Join instructor Amanda Kosobud and make the trendy Alpen Belt Bag by Center Street Quilts! This is a great project for the confident beginner sewist. Learn the basics of bag making: attaching an adjustable strap, complete a lining with finished edges, and insert a zipper. This bag is the perfect size for all your essentials for your daily adventures and is fun to remake for gifts. Supply List:
- Alpen Belt Bag Pattern by Center Street Quilts (purchase here). Please have the paper pattern pieces cut out and ready to go for class.
- 3 fat quarters (one for the main fabric, one for the lining fabric, one for the accent fabric)**
- 14"x14" piece of foam stabilizer or fusible fleece
- 0.5 yards of Pellon SF101 interfacing
- 1.5 yards of webbing (1.5" wide)
- One #5 zipper that is 16" or longer (choose a nylon zipper if you will need to shorten it)
- One 1.5" D Ring
- One 1.5" Strap Slider
- One 1.5" Swivel Hook
- A coordinating spool of Polyester Thread
You should be able to independently thread the machine, load a bobbin, and adjust the settings on the machine. Ideally, you'll already have taken our Introduction to the Sewing Machine Class AND Beginning Sewing (or have the equivalent skills already).
