Get ready to learn evvvverything you need to know to get into quilting!
Whether this is your very first quilt or you have a couple under your belt already, this five week course is designed with beginners in mind to build a foundational knowledge of basic piecing techniques and quilting skills. You'll work through The Fancy Goose Quilt pattern from start to finish -- a pattern written by us, especially for this class! It's a perfect mix of simple, traditional quilt blocks that you can continue to use well into your future quilting projects.
We'll teach you our best practices each step of the way: like achieving that 1/4" seam allowance, pressing vs. ironing, chain + web piecing, etc. We're basically brain dumping everything we know about quilting into this class so you feel confident and capable next time you make a quilt on your own!
The Fancy Goose Quilt pattern finishes around 44" x 44" which is a great size for a baby quilt or a bold wall hanging. If you'd prefer a bed-sized quilt when you're done, just make four of these blocks for a full sized quilt instead. You can choose the 5 color option or the 2 color option.
Included in your registration is 15 hours of expert instruction, the full printed pattern (and digital copy if you'd like), studio use including tools & machines, professional longarm quilting service & batting, and some special notions we really love--including our favorite thread!
You'll only be responsible for your fabric (the thread and batting are on us!).
- For Class #1, you'll need to bring the fabric for your quilt top to class with you. We have The Fancy Goose Quilt Kits available if you'd like to choose from our custom colorways *or* build your own color palette with our Kona Cotton collection *or* from your own stash (check the pattern for fabric requirements)!
- For Class #3, you'll need to bring the fabric for your quilt backing. Don't worry, you'll learn all about choosing the right quilt backing in class!
