Join instructor Amanda Kosobud to stitch up The Buckthorn Backpack / Tote pattern by Noodlehead! You’ll love this zippered top backpack or tote for everyday use--you choose which to make! They both have a front pocket for easy access to smaller items and a flat base. A divided interior pocket keeps everything inside organized. The backpack has adjustable straps and fits tablets, small laptops, and/or notebooks! Buckthorn Tote is perfect for projects on the go.
Before Class:
1. Decide whether you will be making the tote or the backpack version of the bag
2. Please bring the following materials with you to class:
- The Buckthorn Backpack +Tote pattern by Noodlehead: If you choose the PDF version, please follow printing instructions carefully to ensure the proper size
- Fabric Requirements listed on the back of the pattern
- Cotton/polyester blend webbing: 4 yds of 1.5" width for the backpack, 2 yds of 1"width for the tote bag
- Pellon SF-101 (the amount is listed on back of pattern per your project choice)
- 1/2 yard Pellon 987F (Fusible fleece)
- 14" #5 nylon zipper
- Coordinating polyester thread
- For BACKPACK only: (2) 1 ½” wide Triangle Rings (can substitute two 1 ½” wide d-rings), (2) 1 ½” wide Swivel Snaps, and (2) 1 ½” wide Strap Sliders

Must be able to independently thread machine, load bobbin, sew a straight line. Should have experience with multiple sewing projects prior to class. - This workshop requires at least 2 students to run.
